OUR APPROACH TO HYBRID WAN

Dynamic Path Selection

Lavelle Networks copyright ScaleAOn path selection provides an intelligent path control solution to provide best application experience to end user even in case of varying WAN characteristics of one or more transports.

ScaleAOn supports both automatic and intelligent dynamic path selection as well as policy governed path selection modes of operations. ScaleAOn path selection provides an intelligent path control solution that allows each application to dynamically switch the paths in real-time, in response to network conditions.

CloudPort devices constantly monitor the quality of each path, in terms of latency, jitters and packet loss in real time. ScaleAOn algorithms take these WAN attributes and the bandwidth capacity of the path as raw input to steer the outgoing traffic through the best path available for that traffic in a fashion to optimise end-user QoE.

Flowlet Based Load Balancing & per-packet load balancing (PPLB).

The Flow Let based load balancing moves a flow from a congested path to another path, based on the quality(latency, jitter, packet drop) and capacity characteristics of the flow. This type of load balancing adapts the nature of the flow to the characteristics of the path on which the flow is pinned. When the characteristics of the path changes, the flow is automatically pinned to a better path to provide the best path characteristics to that Flow Let. Used to avoid path congestion and for ensuring equal utilization for all paths to the same destination by aggregating the overall throughput of a singular flow across multiple PATHs. Packet order correction is done at the receiving end of the network.

If there are multiple WAN links whose metrics fall within the best Quality Score Band, then the application traffic is load balanced across all these WAN on a per packet by packet basis. The system does an automatic Packet Order Correction and Random Early Detection (RED) based automatic queue management (AQM) for the interface queue scheduler. This ensures the best quality of experience for the application traffic user. The algorithm automatically falls back to flow based Load balancing after detecting the performance degradation because of huge delays in packet reordering due to large delta of WAN characteristics (Latency, Packet Loss Rate, and Jitter) of multiple WAN links.

Bandwidth Aggregation

According to IDC, the "optimization of WAN bandwidth" and "consistent application security are the top two motivations for SD-WAN deployments.

ScaleAOn aggregates the bandwidth of different circuit types delivering resilience and throughput. ScaleAOn’s unique ability to aggregate traffic over multiple links, ensures our customers get the benefit of all the available bandwidth on site, all the time. With ScaleAOn Bandwidth Aggregation we ensure that business-critical unified communication application performance remains high

Bandwidth aggregation in ScaleAOn uses PPLB balancing to maximize the bandwidth utilization to ensure that chatty applications have the performance they need, without compromising the bandwidth of other applications.

Application recognition accuracy with ScaleAOn enhances application steering through an accelerated overlay VPN network and provides the best quality of experience across any low cost WAN.

Cons of MPLS

MPLS is optimized for point-to-point connectivity only. They are not perfect for cloud users. You can’t directly access your SaaS or cloud application with MPLS.
MPLS also requires WAN optimization for streamlining its delivery. This will add extra costs on top of the old cost.
The worst thing about MPLS is that you won’t have complete control over your network. Your service provider will configure all the networks. You will only help your provider in dynamic routing.
If your offices are situated in different countries or states, then MPLS will take a long time to deploy. It can even take more than 6 months to connect all your offices.
MPLS is also expensive when compared to options like Ethernet.

Pros of a Dedicated Line ILL

Reliability

If your business relies on the internet for its day to day running, you will know that DSL broadband is simply not reliable enough.

You no longer have to worry about Fair Usage Policy (FUP) as you can use as much data as you like for the monthly price you agree.
Faster upload speeds and download speeds
More control
Better Support, comes with an SLA
No usage cap and lower latency
Security

Cons of a Dedicated Line

Cost : Leased lines are a lot more expensive than Asymmetric Digital Subscriber (ADSL) or FTTC connections.
Additional hidden charges
Complexity
Dependency on various factors like availability of service providers.
Longer wait times
Cannot utilize pre-existing circuit like ADSL

Pros of a broadband connection

High speeds
Your Internet connection stays active
The telephone line is not necessary
Your phone line is open for telephone calls

Cons of a broadband connection

High price

Security concerns – firewall

Congestion on the lines

Internet Throttling

Pros of 4G

Quickly download files over a wireless network
Easily access Internet, IM, social networks, streaming media, video calling
4G is 10 times faster than 3G
Extremely high voice quality
Higher bandwidth

Cons of 4G

New frequencies means new components in cell towers.
Consumer is forced to buy a new device to support the 4G
Higher data prices for consumers
It is impossible to make your current equipment compatible with the 4G network
